Sarissa's Pay it Forward

Part 2
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
Shera, Madeline, Jenny and I made treat bags for the kids at the Ronald McDonald House for our act of kindness.

Why did you choose this activity?
We choose this activity because we thought the kids at the Ronald McDonald house would enjoy and appreciate the treat bags.

What did you do?
We went to Dollarama and bought 31 bags to put everything in. We got pencils, erasers, stickers, notepads, lollipops, toy dinosaurs for the boys, and a tiaras for the girls to put in each bag. The day after, our group went to the Ronald McDonald House and delivered the bags to Kerry. She was one of the people that worked there.

Who did you help?
We helped the children at the Ronald McDonald House.

When did you do your act of kindness?
We did it on November 14.

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go?
I thought it went good.

What happened?
Kelly, the person that worked at the Ronald McDonald House gave us a tour around the house. She also told us some details about it.

How did you feel?
When we went inside the house I felt welcome and not nervous.

How did the person/people react?
Kerry thanks us for contributing to the Ronald McDonald House.

Did you ask the person to pay it forward?
The tags on the treat bags said 'Pay it Forward' on them. When we signed the guest book we wrote 'Pay it forward' on them along with our school and names.

How did they react to your request?
I'm not sure on how they reacted.

Part 4
Was the idea of 'Pay it Forward' important?
Yes, the idea of Pay it Forward is important because something small can make a difference.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
I'm not sure that it has made a difference to the children because all of them were at the hospital at the time we went there.

  1. Sarissa I like your idea of making treat bags for the kids. I like it because your giving canady away to kids who didn't go trick or treating its away of giving back. Also how you did it with friends, how you bought treats with your own money. Way to go

  2. Hey Sarissa! I like how you all thought of a more creative place to give these treat bags. I also liked that you took your time to put together all these bags and give them to the children even if you didn't actually get to give it to them in person. Good job!

  3. Hi Sarissa! Awesome job on your Pay it Forward project! I really liked how you made treat bags and donated them to the Ronald McDonald House. I really like the idea of writing cards telling them to pay it forward. If I were sick and group of kids gave me a treat bag i would feel happy that somebody had thought about me and cared enough to make these treat bags. So, i think that the children might have felt the same. Overall i think that your project was very well planned and very well done, awesome job Sarissa!
