Pages 142-143
Questions 3,7 & 11

a) 300/100 =3 b) 1.25/100=0.0125
3x 2000 = 6000 0.0125x 60= 0.75

c) 1/100=0.001
0.001x 40= 0.4

a)If there were 100 tickets there would be a 1% chance of winning with one ticket. So, 1/2 = 0.5 or 0.5%

b)If there is a 0.5% chance of winning with one ticket you would have to buy 5 tickets to have a 2.5% chance.
(0.5x5=2.5)

  1. Hi Sarissa! You had a little bit of mistakes on your scribe. First one is question 3c). It should be 0.04 becuase if you go 100 divided by 1000 is 0.1 so 40 divided by 1000 is 0.04. Next is question 11. It should be 649003.55 km because you it says manitoba is 6.5% of Canada NOT 6.5% more than Canada. So you go 100÷10=10 then 9984670÷10=998467 then 10x6=60 then 998467x6=5990802 then 60÷10=6 then 5990802÷10=599080.2 then 6÷12=0.5 then 599080.2÷12=49923.35 then 6+0.5=6.5 then 599080.2+49923.35=649003.55 or 649004. I know it maybe a little confusing so here is a video that might help you.

  2. Great scribe post Sarissa, but you had a few mistakes. On question 3c), it should be 0.04 because 40 divided by 1000 is 0.04. On question 11, it should be 6490003.55km because the area of Manitoba is 6.5% of the area of Canada, Not 6.5% more than Canada. So you write 6.5 divided by 100= 0.065, 0.065x9984670= 649003.55 or 649004, this is just one way you could use to figure it out. I suggest that you add a video. Here is a video that you could use:
